OE 7MM PROBLEM:
Modern engines like the PSA DV5 are equipped with EGR and DPF systems improving MPG and lowering emissions. This leads to harmful soot accumulation, causing premature wear on critical components such as the timing chain and camshafts.
BGA 8MM SOLUTION:
To combat premature wear of the Timing Chain and Camshaft, OE and BGA have upgraded these components by increasing the chain pitch from 7mm to 8mm, along with modified camshafts and a camshafts carrier.

IDENTIFYING A DV5 ENGINE 7MM OR 8MM TIMING SETUP.
OE systems are unclear about which Timing Setup was used during production, especially with upgrades around January 2023. Some pre-2023 vehicles may already have been upgraded under warranty.
Fortunately, identifying the fitted Timing setup is possible without removing the cover:
The Camshaft Carrier has been modified to accommodate the increase size of the timing setup.
Original covers will also have different OE numbers on the housing.
